Whale Season 2009
From September 1 through October/November the humback whales appear off of our islands' shores. Our Lodge is fortunate to boast a terrific whale watching view as the whales often pass through the waters close to the Lodge. This whaling season, 2009, I will be posting some of the photos I take of the whales as they pass on through.
Located on the rough, Southern coastline of the Island of Tutuila in American Samoa, the Turtle & Shark Lodge is situated high above the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Larson's Cove. Throughout the year dolphins can be seen coming into the cove to play, and once a year during the whale season humpback and other species of whale migrate to our waters to feed and give birth.
